Ömer Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, stated that 90 percent of every neighborhood in Turkey will have fiber by the end of this year.
Turkey fiber infrastructure is still not at a sufficient level and most of the internet users complain about this situation. Although we see different explanations about fiber infrastructure from time to time, this time there is another very ambitious statement. We can say that this announcement was made by one of the top names, which surprised the users a little. Because when we look at the statement made, we see that a statement that is too good to be true has been signed.
Fiber infrastructure will come all over Turkey in 2023
Ömer Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, stated that every neighborhood in Turkey will have 90 percent fiber infrastructure until 2021, that is, by the end of this year. He announced that this rate will increase to 100% in 2023.
Fatih Sayan, who participated in the CloudTalk Online 2021 event organized online, made the following statements in the fiber infrastructure section; “We think that 5G has become a critical technology that will affect the future of countries. But there are two indispensable parts for 5G. there is a must. Cloud computing services, our data centers, fiber network after the 5G base station that can reach them, the construction of our country with fiber networks… At this point, I would like to share that 2021 is a very big breakthrough year. In our guidance to the operators, I can say very clearly that by the end of this year, 90 percent of every neighborhood in Turkey will have fiber. We do not consider 90 percent sufficient. Our 2023 target will be 100 percent, with fiber in all our neighborhoods. “
