The price and release date of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card were officially announced on Computex.

One of the key keynotes for gamers at Computex came from NVIDIA. On the gaming side, the company announced the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti cards. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti: New Gaming Flagship

NVIDIA calls this card the “new gaming flagship”. However, unlike the 2080 Ti and 1080 Ti, this is actually a slightly throttled version of the better NVIDIA GeForce card already on the market, the GeForce RTX 3090. A cheaper RTX 3090 with half the VRAM seems to have emerged to make a very powerful graphics card for 4K gaming.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti officially introduced

There are big differences on the memory side. The RTX 3090 is a 24GB card using 24 GDDR6X chips in a clamshell configuration, while the RTX 3080 Ti cuts that down to 12 chips and hence 12GB of VRAM. The memory clock speed has also been reduced to 19 Gbps.

When it comes to performance, the RTX 3080 Ti will be nearly identical to the RTX 3090, given that the RTX 3090 only beats the RTX 3080 by 10-15%. Therefore, it seems like 10% more money will come out of the pockets of the players to have the same performance.
