“There was a bidding war but Epic has the best streaming deal. So it looks like Alan Wake 2 is coming. I don’t know exactly when they’re going to announce it, but I heard about it and I thought you might want to hear it here.

Alan Wake was first released for Xbox 360 and PC in 2010. It was remembered as an original game that stands out with its story and its way of telling the story. It’s about the life of a young thriller who writes bestseller books that soon turns into a nightmare. He lives the events in his real life from his last book, which he could not remember when he wrote, and these began with the disappearance of his wife. It was a highly appreciated game, especially with its tense atmosphere, enemies, and its graphics that were beyond the age even in its time.

Remedy purchased the rights to the game in July 2019 from Microsoft, the original publisher who owns the IP rights. Sam Lake, the studio’s creative director, later announced that he wanted to make an Alan Wake sequel. Remedy then signed a publishing deal with Epic Games in March 2020 for two unannounced games.

They said that one of these two projects is an AAA game that will be broadcast on multiplatform and the other is a smaller scale project. Both projects are developed on Remedy’s proprietary Northlight game engine and tools. Epic Games Publishing will cover all development and publishing costs and will split the profit 50/50. Seeing a sequel to the series will be great after a long time. So what do you think about this subject? Do not forget to mention your opinion in the comments.
